Matabitchuan River Trail
Overview
Access to this trail is just before the second bridge at the end of Highway 567 (before the old Powerhouse and alongside Old Growth C.R.).
Hikers should walk upstream along the north side of the river or paddle 1 km west across Fourbass Lake. The waterfalls are not to be missed before the steep ascent is made toward a flat-rocked trail with many vistas.
As travelers turn west on the hilltops toward the Gorrie Lake lookouts, the side trail should be noted down to the creek camp and the old-growth Pine forest south of the trails.
