The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority manages 20 hectares (50 acres) of the wetland.  Lake Erie shoreline, Provincially Significant Wetland, ANSI Site located near Rondeau Provincial Park. It is open 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. all year, free of charge.

The LTVCA has acquired land in the watershed (see watershed map) to protect environmentally sensitive lands, wetlands, culturally unique features such as the Ska-Nah-Doht Iroquoian Village and significant biological, ecological, historical and scenic qualities from development.
