Stone Road Alvar Conservation Area Trail

With this Conservation Area, getting there is half the fun since it is located a boat ride away on Pelee Island. The alvar is an area of thin topsoil over limestone bedrock, a very unique ecosystem and one of the region's most biologically diverse, supporting some 55 native alvar plants.
There is no formal trail but the area is yours to explore and there is much to see. Look out for Oak-Hickory Woodland, Oak Savannah, Red Cedar Savannah, and old-field thicket.
